I have decided that Saturday will be my first day of fasting because with working and getting home late it's going to be tricky getting to the market for my fruit and veg.
One topic of contention for me that a lot of people keep whinging about is 'REMEMBER YOU NEED PROTEIN'. First lets put that "but I need protein" argument to rest. Whether or not you eat meat doesn't really matter. Plants, despite what you may have heard, can give you all the protein you need. CASE CLOSED. FULL STOP.
Update on my sisters fasting: She's been able to go 7 days juice fasting. Tonight she'll eat her first "real" meal. I'm super duper proud of her for going this long. She's a bit discouraged that she couldn't go longer but she was at the point where she was gagging down the juice and was only drinking 40oz a day (2 bottles full) and she should've been drinking at least 80oz's a day and thus wasn't getting enough nutrition. Also Marie has never been a huge juice drinker in the first place...she's always enjoyed cooking and planning her meals...whereas I'm the opposite. I love to cook and bake but it loses it's appeal with you're cooking for 1 person. So I like the quick lazy dinner meals of a bowl of cereal or yogurt or a smoothie. So I am hoping I will be a bit more successful in my fasting journey. Marie wanted us to go for dinner tonight to break her fast, but I suggested she get something from the Chinese Takeaway and eat at home where a toilet is nearby. I explained that she's going to get a bad case of diarrhea after eating Chinese after not eating a scrap of food for 7 days. It always goes back to the bog.
My juicer is being delivered today. I have bought 3 juicing books on my Kindle and one in hard format. I have read huge amounts of data on juicing and it's benefits and I look forward to seeing what it will do to my body. As I mentioned before, I'm a bit scared I'll fail and give in to temptation but Lord willing I can persevere. I think because I'm working 8-10hrs a day in my hospital I'll be okay...I'll have lots of other busy things on my mind to focus on.
What are my expectations? Sure I want to be healthy and wake up with no morning breath and have poop that doesn't smell, LOL--this is the positive side effects from juicing--But the idea of looking slimmer and kinda fit is a really big drive. I've got booty and curves and in a slimmer form they can actually look much nicer. Also to be honest I want to get back into bike riding and hiking...I miss all of those things so its on the horse I go. Oh and before you ask, I am NOT doing this to attract a man--thing is I've never had a lot of trouble in that dept as long as the bloke liked his girls curvaceous. I'm genuinely doing this to kick start a healthier way of eating and activity.
Okay so enough of the nattering about the healthy stuff for now. Though I will say, all of my colleagues are all dying to see how I get on as they're interested in giving this a go if I don't end up dying of starvation, vitamin deficiency, or the bloody flux.
Cheers for stopping by to read.
